Selangor Techsphere Summit turns to green technology and smart automation on Oct. 16, with manufacturers set to discuss energy resilience and sustainable finance before the four-day programme closes with a focus on workforce skills.

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre event runs Oct. 14-17 as part of Selangor International Business Summit 2026. Its Friday agenda connects environmental requirements with the practical decisions businesses make about equipment, operating costs and investment.

The organiser's programme lists an opening address on sustainable manufacturing by Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing president Jacob Lee, followed by a panel on energy management and resilience. A later presentation addresses sustainable finance opportunities.

The programme describes Friday's focus as helping manufacturers respond to environmental, social and governance expectations, export requirements and emissions reporting while maintaining plant performance. These are subjects scheduled for discussion, rather than policy decisions or investment commitments announced by participants.

Technology And Skills On The Same Agenda

The final day, Oct. 17, is dedicated to governance, talent and technical and vocational education and training. It follows earlier days covering AI and the digital economy, then semiconductors and microelectronics.

That sequence links technology adoption with the people needed to use and manage it. The agenda moves from digital and manufacturing systems to their operating environment, then to the skills pipeline supporting industrial change.

For a business considering an automated process, those subjects address different questions: what the technology does, how it fits the plant's energy and reporting requirements, and whether staff have the capability to operate it. The summit's structure puts these questions within one event, without establishing a single solution that applies to every company.

Registration And The Wider Summit

The current registration page advertises a free delegate pass covering the conference programme and exhibition across all four days. It asks visitors to select the days they plan to attend and says separate exhibition registration is not required.

People considering a visit should use the organiser's live registration and programme information for their chosen day. A published agenda can change, and an event listing should not be treated as confirmation of an individual's booking or a speaker's completed appearance.

Invest Selangor's March announcement for SIBS 2026 identified Techsphere as one of three new specialised pillars. It named the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre and Hannover Fairs Asia Pacific as the partners behind the industrial technology component.

The same announcement described the wider summit's expansion through SIBS@ASEAN. It reported cumulative potential transaction value of RM30.56 billion across SIBS' history, a measure of prospective business opportunities rather than confirmed revenue for the 2026 event.

That distinction matters when evaluating a trade gathering's results. Attendance, discussions, potential transactions and completed investments measure different things. The immediate value of the remaining Techsphere programme is access to scheduled industry conversations; any deals, operational improvements or workforce outcomes will need to be assessed through subsequent evidence.
