Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair will return from Nov. 27 to 29 for its sixth edition, gathering more than 150 exhibitors from Malaysia and 23 countries at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.

The organiser's listing on CloudJoi gives opening hours of noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The three-day programme combines the fair floor with talks, book launches, workshops, installations and exhibitions.

The participant count and international reach describe the planned exhibitor programme. They are not a visitor attendance forecast or a count of countries from which every attendee will travel.

Independent Publishing At The Centre

The fair's official description traces its origins to artist-run culture and self-publishing. It brings together artists, illustrators, designers, independent publishers, writers, photographers and printmakers working with art books and printed matter.

That emphasis distinguishes an art book fair from a general book retail event. A publication can carry photography, illustration, graphic design or an artist's project as well as conventional written text. The printed object is part of the creative work being presented.

In an Oct. 14 preview, BusinessToday highlighted zines, magazines, posters and prints among the material expected on the floor. It also described the event as a meeting place for collectives and cultural institutions alongside individual creators.

The organiser's current ticketing page lists talks with regional design practitioners and hands-on activities in printmaking and alternative printing. Specific session details and any separate workshop requirements should be checked against the 2026 programme as they are announced.

Admission Depends On The Ticket Tier

The CloudJoi listing sets out several sales tiers rather than one universal price. It shows a limited RM15 Blind Bird one-day pass allocation, an RM20 Early Bird one-day pass, RM25 general admission and RM30 admission at the door. Additional fees apply.

A listed tier does not guarantee that its allocation remains available when a visitor books. The RM20 price highlighted in the news preview therefore should not be read as the price for every ticket throughout the sales period.

Visitors can use the ticketing page to check the available tier, the date covered by the pass and the final charge. A one-day pass should not be assumed to provide access for all three days or to include a separately ticketed activity without the corresponding conditions.

Venue And Travel Details

The venue is KLSCAH at 1 Jalan Maharajalela. The event listing describes it as about a five-minute walk from Maharajalela Monorail station and a 15-minute walk from Pasar Seni MRT and LRT stations.

Those published walking estimates provide an indication of the venue's public transport access. They do not include waiting time for trains or a visitor's journey to the station. The opening-hour differences also matter for anyone choosing an evening visit: Friday closes an hour later than the weekend days.

The fair remains more than a month away, giving readers time to follow the exhibitor and session announcements. The current information establishes the dates, venue and broad programme, while the final choice of a visit can be based on the creators and activities scheduled for each day.
